Queering Space Study Day

2 February 2019 11:00 am - 2 February 2019 4:00 pm

Queering Space is a one-day study day exploring an array of perspectives on queer identity in the current exhibition Living Beyond Limits. Through conversations, creative workshops and a shared meal, we draw out the themes of the show and raise questions for how museums and the wider community recognise queer identities and experience.

Throughout the day, thinkers, activists and artists discuss their practice and research. Speakers include Dr Fiona Anderson, Lecturer and Researcher; James Beighton, Researcher, Curator and Director of Tees Valley Arts; and Michelle Williams Gamaker, Moving Image and Performance Artist. Artist and zine-maker Ellen Welsh delivers a zine-making workshop that explores the do-it-yourself mini magazine.
