Keith McIntyre: public lecture series with Teesside University Fine Art Programme and mima

12 January 2016 4:00 pm - 12 January 2016 6:00 pm

Keith McIntyre is a Professor of Fine Art and Head of the Department of Arts at Northumbria University. His exhibition Moladh Elephantus, on show at mima 7 January – 31 January, investigates processes of coastal erosion and our relationship to such landscapes through Hartlepool Headland’s ‘Elephant Rock’. Referencing early photography, the artist reimagines the rock through a series of new drawings using ink, somewhat similar in appearance to early engravings or postcards, to capture the memory of the elephant rock.

This free, public lecture takes place in the Constantine Lecture Theatre, Teesside University. It is part of a series of lectures co-programmed by Fine Art programme and mima, Teesside University. Open to the public. No need to book, just turn up on the day.
