Autumn Exhibitions Opening Day

21 October 2017

Join us for the launch of our Autumn season, featuring curator-led tours, spotlight artist talks and a special edition of our popular Art Trolley.

Lunch is provided at 1.00pm. Our new programme includes exhibitions and projects that contribute to the urgent debate around the present condition and future of housing. We take a political look at how residents and practitioners working between art, architecture and activism propose solutions for alternative housing models.

Throughout the day, users of all ages will have to opportunity to make their own hand-dyed tea towel, using the same techniques used to create our constituent-led line of social enterprise products, soon to be sold in the mima shop. Materials for these products were created through a series of workshops with our pre-school group Mini mima, Cloth Club and our dementia friendly group Creative Age, and are being market tested by constituents and as part of the Idea Home exhibition.

We will also provide a free, warm vegetarian meal as part of Communal Lunch (donations welcome). Our permanent display of the Middlesbrough Collection continues on the third-floor.
