Shop

Sourcing from local and national makers, designers and artists, mima shop offers a unique product range. This includes jewellery, homeware, greetings cards, stationery and books as well as design-led children’s gifts, books and pocket money toys.

We have furniture and homeware from New Boosbeck Industries, a social enterprise led by Middlesbrough-based artist Adam Clarke. New Boosbeck Industries draws on a moment of deprivation and production in 1930s Teesside and uses new technologies to work with the public to design and produce furniture.

A collection of ceramic pieces from New Linthorpe, a project by Teesside-based artist Emily Hesse and curator James Beighton that revisits the Linthorpe Art Pottery designs and ethos to create new ceramics that reflect the character of modern-day Middlesbrough.

This season’s featured products include:

Hand stitched  leather wallets, card holders, journal covers and key lanyards from Tees Hide Leather Co.

Rag rugs, bags and tea cosies from local designer and maker Eyv Saunders.

Clippy mats from ‘Hole in the Wall’ members of Horden’s Youth and Community Centre and by makers from our own ‘Cloth Club’(embed link to project page).

Local designer Richard O’Neil and North East team My World Publishing celebrate our region with a range of mugs, tea towels and tote bags.

We are currently working with mima’s sessions Cloth Club, Creative Age, mini mima and Teesside University’s Fashion and Textiles department to develop new products made in response to the Middlesbrough Collection. This project creates opportunities for people in our region and sharing the creative activities that happen on site. We launch the first product range in June 2017.
